Often more lucrative than the call-up of hitting prospects is that of pitchers. The hitters seem to get more national attention and for the most part people don’t collect cards of pitchers or really know who they are until they get the news that they’re being called up. This creates some of the wildest price jumps that we see anywhere in the hobby. Mick Abel and Jacob Misiorowski are prime examples of two different pitching prospects just this year who saw their 1st Bowman autograph go up almost 1,000% (even more in Abel’s case) from a strong MLB debut. You almost never see increases like this in the world of hitters and it’s what makes holding cards of pitching prospects so fun in my opinion. Obviously it’s impossible to predict jumps of those proportions but we often seen pitchers go up 100% or more simply from getting the call. Let’s see if we can’t find the ones most likely to see their stock go way up in the near future.
