14 Prospects With Bowman Autos Under $40 You Should Be Buying

In-depth look at the hitting prospects in my top 75 Hobby Ranks with the best potential for growth in 2025

The hardest part of prospecting is, and always will be, finding value. People think it’s as easy as “buy Roman Anthony”, but those who have been in the game for awhile can tell you that by the time a player is the #1 prospect it’s time to sell, not buy. If you know me, you know my primary goal is to buy cards of prospects that I believe are on the verge of breaking out. Buying someone at the peak of their hype isn’t my style. It’s why I’ve only once given a buy grade higher than 3 to a prospect with a base auto over $100. When you’re playing percentages, your auto can only go up so far from $100 before you get called up.

That’s where this list comes in. For the new people the Hobby Rank is a prospect ranking system I’ve created using a number of factors that I believe affect card prices. These rankings factor in age and power, two of the hobby’s favorite ‘tools’, along with a consensus of dynasty rankers and a computer generated ranking based on how they’ve performed. As you can imagine, most of the players ranked high are already expensive. Most, but not all. There are a total of fourteen prospects inside my top 75 who currently have a base auto under $40 and are under the age of 22. These, in my opinion, are the prospects who are most likely to take off in 2025 and have their cards go up with them.
